Overview

Self-operated flow control valve (self-operated balance valve) is an institutive, simple and convenient flow regulating control device. The application of the valve in pipe network can set flow directly according to the design. Under the function of water, the valve can automatically eliminate the flow deviation caused by residual pressure head and pressure fluctuation in pipelines. No matter how system pressure changes, the valve always keeps the setting flow unchanged. Above functions of the valve make the flow adjusting in pipeline network be completed at a time and make it become simple flow distribution; solve the hydraulic disorder in pipe network effectively.

Operating Principle

 

Self-operated Flow Control Valve

 

Structurally, Self-operated flow control valve is a combination of double valves, they are manual regulating group valve and automatic balance group valve. The function of manual regulating group valve is setting flow, and the function of automatic balance group valve is to keep flow being constant.

For manual regulating group valve, flow G=Kv (P2-P3), the Kv value depends on opening degree, if the opening degree is unchanged, the flow G will be unchanged. And the constant of P2-P3 is controlled by the automatic balance valve group. For example, if the differential pressure of inlet and outlet increases, automatic balance group valve will be turned down by pressure sensing diaphragm and spring, this can increase P1-P2 to keep P2-P3 constant; conversely, if P1-P3 decreases, automatic balance group valve will be opened widely, this can decreases P1-P2 to keep P2-P3 constant. In a word, when the pressure in pipe network changes, automatic valve element is turned up or down automatically by the pressure to keep setting value unchangeable.

Each opening degree of manual control group valve corresponds to a flow value, the relationship of opening degree and flow will calibrated by the test bench in the test, and equips display with opening degree and locking device.
